EA has been making their plans a reality for several years now. They are selling game products on all available platforms. Thanks to this global expansion, most of the serious games that have a huge audience have got a mobile version. The Sims, Need for Speed or even Dead Space. There’s just one catch: Electronic Arts products are too hard on the wallet. Even if you buy them on a free-to-play system.
A look at Need For Speed mobile project shows that the company is clearly losing interest in the racing series. And there was a time when the developers tried to make the portable game interesting. Now they don’t consider the wishes of their users and make new parts poorly. New Need for Speed No Limits game has standard problems.
The development of mobile version was in the hands of Firemonkeys Studio. We should remind, that earlier they have released Real Racing, that aroused interest of the majority of users. However, the concept of this game is different from NFS. The players were expecting to see something really cool, but we got something in between. The users won’t see the spectacular races, there is no police chasing the character. Even Asphalt, in which all the laws of physics are broken, and that looks much more interesting. Now NFS is something that limits all the freedom of the player. Here you will not cut the way just for fun, you will not feel the emotion of pushing the gas into the floor.
Simply put, the new No Limits is a kind of corridor mode. Any race chosen in the game involves monotonous dialogue. The race will take you about a minute to complete. Who can be interested in this? However, the developers made a feeble attempt to diversify the game. They added game modes: you may compete with several racers, manage to pass the track during certain time, or gather drifting points. All nor go in a circle and after a while just get bored. The only entertainment that can really interest is the battles with the bosses.
As for bosses, that’s a separate point altogether. This concept has been around since Most Wanted. But if you compare it to the current mobile version, it becomes sad. The plot is identical: the racer has to climb up the career ladder, outrun your opponents and achieve success. You will have to face local legends. There’s not even a whiff of originality in the game. And that’s considering the bosses are the most interesting thing about NFS No Limits. Getting around them won’t be difficult if you’ve assembled a good car. Compared to classic asphalt racing, this solution is very much a loser.
You have to hand it to the developers – the game turned out beautiful. The new cars want to get their own, the weather effects look very attractive. Of course, the physics in the game is not even worth commenting on. There is virtually no damage to the cars – the only thing that shows up after the hits are scratches. Transport often behaves inadequately on corners, it is difficult to steer. You feel as if you are driving an iron iron iron.
And while No Limits is fun to play at times, it has nothing in common with the series – an empty and sad version of the legendary series.
